The AIC10Bal integrated amplifier for headphones has been developed to offer fans of this type of listening a unique experience.
Any detail that could affect the absolute purity of the sound, from an internal DAC to superfluous controls, has been deliberately eliminated from its circuitry.
This amplifier embodies all the salient features of Riviera equipment: Zero Overall Feedback, a Hybrid design (valves for voltage amplification, solid-state devices for power), and Pure Class A operation.
The voltage amplification of each channel is entrusted to a pure triode operating in Class A.
The power section employs devices capable of dissipating 150W continuously.
The power supply, which uses an oversized transformer, employs a refined pigreco filter and distributed capacitance; the total capacitance is over 65,000uF.
The AIC10Bal has 1 balanced line input and 2 unbalanced inputs.
The AIC10Bal is equipped with two headphone outputs (6.3mm|1/4” jack and 4-pin XLR) and is capable of driving any headphones with ease. In addition, it is fitted with loudspeaker outputs, making it suitable for driving medium-sensitivity loudspeakers in domestic settings.
A control is provided on the front panel to select 1) the loudspeaker output (SPEAKERS), 2) the high-level headphone output for low-sensitivity headphones (HP-HIGH) and, 3) the low-level headphone output for high-sensitivity headphones (HP-LOW), in order to adapt optimally to different operating conditions.
